A New Lincoln Middle School on the Rise
The New Lincoln Middle School is rising brick by brick in the shadows of the old building. Foundations have been laid, steel is set, the internal walls are up, and framing has begun as construction continues for the 2010 fall opening of school. The Academic Wing will house the core classrooms including Humanities, Mathematics, and Science. Within this area, there will be the small group rooms, teacher offices, and both a Science Lab and Applied Learning Lab where students will have the opportunity to execute hands-on projects that enhance the curriculum. The Fine Arts Wing will have a Band Room, General Music Area, a Macintosh Electronic Lab and an Art Classroom. The Gymnasium will allow for two PE classes to take place simultaneously and students in the Fitness Room will have the ability to workout while others learn about nutrition in the Health Room. It goes without saying that the excitement at Lincoln is immeasurable as students and staff watch the daily progress of the building and anticipate the wonders waiting for them next school year.
